Two plant ID's please

Both of these involve a confession, The first is as tame as forgetting to label a pot. The plant is about 6" tall. The flower has a waxy appearance, starting out pale yellow, fading to cream.

The second is much worse. These plants have been languishing in the red pots for much longer than I care to admit. I have been walking past (and ignoring) them on a daily basis for agesimageimageimage. Are they lillies? Would there be any point in trying to rejuvenate them, or are they fit only for the bin or compost?

 Thanks

I think you need to wait until a flower bud/spike appears as at the moment they loo like they could be yucca or big agapanthus.

I'm sure I've seen a pic similar to the first one on a different thread.

The top one looks like a hyacinth when it's been around for years and a shadow of its former self

The manner of growth of the second looks like hemerocallis, day lily

I agree with Nut there, plant them all in the garden.

Thanks for the replies. I originally wrote this on the day of the OP, but pressed the wrong key and zapped the whole messageimage. Then the rest of life got in the way!

Gm - it has never flowered as far as I am aware, so it might be a long wait

Nut - I wouldn't be at all surprised if it is a geriatric hyacinth. I last grew them years ago and probably put them in a pot and then forgot them (seems to be a theme developing here). I had an inkling that the subject of the second pic was a lily.

Lyn - the plant in pic 1 is going on the compost heap, the lily is going to get some TLC

    Thanks again for your help
