I found these usual flowers on the side of a river bank at the base I some deciduous trees in France. They almost looked like crocuses that had come close to the end! There were no leaves, and the flowers were almost tubular. But had one narrow petal that covered the stamen. They were heavily scented. What are they?!

I'd love to get some of those started. There is (or was) a good big patch by the river Cam. They fascinated me when I was a child.
