It's the simple things

I looked out of the window this morning and saw buds on the first tree I've ever planted.  An Apple tree called Egremont Russet which was planted in October last year.  Can't say how thrilling that was to see....

Thinking of planting more fruit trees/bushes.... Any recommendations? I have lots of fence to cover and a south west facing garden.

    A Concorde pear image

It's self fertile but another pear in the right pollination group will improve the crop.

The cordons I planted in the middle of winter are now budding and some are in leaf. I share your happiness Bluebelle, it is lovely to see new life in the garden. image

  • Why not try some blackberries? They have lovely fruit and provide great coverage and homes for cute critters.
  • Also victoria plums, they made gorgeous pies and crumbles!!
  • I love stepping out into the garden see whats popping up, as its a new garden its exciting to see whats in the ground. xx

  • If you have the space a crab apple will be the perfect pollinator for your apple tree.
