Turnips in tubs?

Hi

I'd like to know if, like carrots, turnips can be grown in containers?  Whilst my garden is being turned from an overgrown weedy jungle, I need to grow everything in containers of some kind.

Can most fruits and veg be grown in containers?

Guess you can grow turnips in containers but for how much they cost and the length of growing time and how many you could fit in I wouldn't bother, I'd grow more carrots and you aren't too late to grow spuds, which the taste of will be far superior to shop ones.

You can grow anything in a container if you are willing to put in the extra work, watering, weeding and care.   Personally, though I use huge numbers of pots, I'm not sure I'd bother with turnips, but in principle there is no reason why not.

  • If you can afford it you could always buy a vegtrug its basically a raised bed on legs they start at about ??169.99 otherwise I agree with bookertoo, good luck!!
