Climbing rose with red leaves
Before I ask the question, I'll preface that I know that roses that get red leaves can be caused by a mite, however, in my specific case, this is not the reason for my question.
I have one standard rose, that new growth has wonderful red/purple leaves and new growth (that go dark green). It was given to me about 15 years ago by family. It also has very dark, almost purple, flowers with the most amazing perfume.
As part of my new garden project, I am asking if there are any varieties of climbing roses which also get red leaves/growth? I find this quite an interesting extra bit of colour detail against a wall.
Many thanks in advance!

I have one at present - beautiful deep red leaves and stems , but does go green eventually, It's called Lady Hillingdon.
Too dark now but if I remember will take and post a photo tomorrow.
Hi flowerbunny85, I presume your referring to the old English rose I have? Certainly not suckers and the plant always produces 2-3 displays throughout the summer of at least 30-40 buds. All I recall that it was purchased as a gift from B&Q and its always been the same since the day I owned it.
Many roses that have deep red or purplish flowers have reddish leaves and stems too, particularly on new growth - the pigment is in the whole plant, not just the petals.
Etoile d'Hollande is just one I can think of with deep red flowers and similar stems and leaves.
Think of a beetroot - the leaves have red stems and veins and often the leaves are purplish too.
Roses with white and yellow blooms tend to have pale green leaves. Same reason.

Thanks Dovefromabove I never even gave that consideration.
Here is my red stemmed and leaf rose -I think you asked for varieties of roses
It looks fine intermingled with a pale green rose.
the red leafed one is called Lady Hillingdon
Scent is good as well!
I have a beautiful climbing rose with large deep red strongly scented blooms. The new growth is also red, slowly turning to green. It is a David Austin 'Crimson Glory' climber. If you are looking for a climber I would strongly suggest this rose
