Getting Iris Reticulata to flower again
Is there a secret to getting Iris Reticulata to flower again after the first year? I have bought several pots of growing bulbs that soon flower, but what do I do afterwards? Leave them in the pots, plant in open ground (if so how deep) or throw them away and buy new the following year?
I have tried replanting into bigger pots, but only get very long then leaves - no sign of re-flowering ...
Help !!!

Iris reticulata seem reluctant to naturalise and increase as some bulbs do - whenever I've grown them, either in pots or in the ground, they decrease year after year. I've heard other gardeners say that this is also their experience.
I'm not sure what their ideal conditions are, but I don't think they include living in the UK

Mine have flowered fine for a second year. I think you have to feed the bulbs with potash after they've finished flowering. The third year may be a different story but so far, so good.
Ah thanks everyone... It's a comfort to know that I'm not alone with this problem ... I will get some potash and see what happens next year
