Berberis Darwinii flower - yellow or orange!?

I planted, what I thought and was labelled, a Berberis darwinii. I was expecting beautiful bright orange flowers but am sad to see they are more of a pale yellow.

I have seen the plant in other gardens and the flower and buds are so eye catching with their vivid colour, I am a tad disappointed mine does not have the same impact!

I just wondered if perhaps the plant was wrongly labelled, and do I need to buy another in bud this time to ensure that it has the colour I am looking for.

I picked the darwinii for its colour and ultimate height as I need something that can grow quite large.
