Mysterious Rhizome

in Plants
I just got this rhizome at a plant swap today, but I don't know what it is. It was labeled, but the label only said 'Climbing plant with nice foliage'. Help!

Yes, pot it up in some nice compost, put it in a sheltered corner and wait - looking forward to pics of some leaves - I love a mystery

Thank you.
These are the leaves that came out of it, it's growing very rapidly now. Looks like a kind of flower buds on the second photo?
Interesting looking plant Marco, not one I know. I look forward to seeing the ID

I have a weed similar to this that climbs through the hedge.the flowers are small and yellow.cant think of the name though.
White bryony?
Are the leaves slightly bristly? It's a bit like the male wild hop ...

Can say no definitely to white bryony, that has a root like a parsnip.
It doesn't look like a hop plant as I remember them but I haven't seen one lately
Where are you and what sort of soil have you got Marco?

It has been growing in a pot sice i got it, because i didn't know if it would become invasive. I don't think it's a hop, for i know what that looks like. It's leaves are not hairy and quite thin.
It started flowering today, little bundles of flowers, each one about 2-3 mm wide. I still don´t know what it is. Anybody?
