What can we do with coffee grounds

Hello,
With all the wastes that can be recycled, I want to find a way to evolve as a society. I currently have contacts at Tim Hortons who are willing to leave me their coffee grounds. With all this amount of grounds, I found two realistic options for recycling the big quantity. The first concerns the mushroom grows, which was a little too complicated for an amateur like me. The second, slightly more promising, would be to create a mixture of fertilizer composed mainly with coffee grounds.

With some research, I found interesting ingredients such as lime or wood ash and leaves cut. I need a perfect blend ingredients consist of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (NPK). The coffee grounds are environmentally friendly and chemical free. In addition, it repels ants, slugs and other insects.

As an amateur, I wonder if this might interest some gardeners. What are the possibilities of mixing with coffee grounds? Is it worth to invest in such a project?

I use them around small seedlings - lettuce, brassicas etc as a deterrent against slugs and snails. I saw other allotment holders doing this, it seemed to work for them and it seems to help ensure more of mine survive.

I either put it in the compost or throw it finely over the soil.

Don't put it in pot plants as it does grow fungus/mould of some kind (Perfectly natural for decomposing but looks unsightly and I would question health around the area)

I've heard its also a good cat deterrent.

I was told to put coffee grounds on hydrangeas and tea on camellias.

  • I add some boiling water to the spents in the french press, squeeze another mug of coffee out of them them tip em on a different bit of my garden from previous spents. I found too much increases fungal colonisation, though it doesn't seem to have caused harm to plants. It also cakes, so I won't be putting it in pots again.

Reading all the threads so far I think adding to a mixtrue with existing compost seems to be the best useimage

  • 3 handfuls of grounds left to infuse overnight with 9L of water - best lawn feed I've used. (4th year running)
