Thank you everyone. So, basically, slowly slowly and I'll get there. I have some that grow in a dip between my garden and the field behind and I'm happy to leave them there provided they don't start popping out nearer and nearer. all of mine snap, I've got clayish soil here in Wilts so it's a pretty tricky job. Not least because they seem to enjoy hanging out as close to the stem of a desirable plant as they can.
