Wood versus plastic

Looking for a bench and storage box for the garden, i have seen a good plastic storage box and also a plastic bench with storage, How do any of you find plastic? Or is it better to get wood?

    Here in Devon, the air is so clean that wood just turns green, We've given up on wooden furniture as it seems to be covered  in lichen if you leave it alone for 5 mins.
