Best moisture loving fern?

Hi guys,

Just after some advice on the best fern for near a pond?

    Nearly all ferns like to be moist and most of them like some shade. One of my favourites is Osmunda regalis.

    Hi guysimage sorry Justin hijacking your postimage I have a large fern in a big 18" pot I now know it needs to be in the ground so that it doesn't dry out. When I remove the pot can I split it and if so do I handle it as a hosta?

    Thanks Verdunimage yes I am making a new bed on the north side of the house so extra plants would be good but I would rather have fewer plants than loose what I have .  I'll make sure it's kept watered  land would your suggest a chopped Barak mulching or just use compost?
