Whats the best time to harvest Mahonia seeds?

in Plants
Its amazing the things you notice after walking past them for years. There's a giant out of control hedge i've been walking past for roughly three years and I've just noticed its a giant Mahonia. It's especially laden with berries this year, must have been a good year.

I think they're all dark coloured when ripe. I'd wait until they start dropping then grab a few. Sow them, don't store them

Cheers, nutcutlet.
Anyone else want some?
Must be a good year Jimmy, mine are still green but lots of them. Mahonia aquifolium is still in flower
