Clearing and fencing done NOW WHAT?!
Hi everybody, I've recently cleared the bottom of my garden after inheriting a whole pile of rubbish and bad gardening from the previous owners. As you can see from the photos I have cleared alot and done all the hard work I just now need some ideas on what to do with the area

Thanks in advance

What sort of things do you want to grow? Ornamentals? Edibles? Shrubs? Flowers? I like edibles myself, so I'd plant some trained apples along the boarder, underwhich I'd plant a variety of bulbs and perennials. Daffodils and tulips, followed by peonies maybe. Leave some lawn for the kids.. but build some raised beds in a sunny part for summer veg.

Daniel, you'll have to go half way with us and tell us what your interests are, what you want to use the garden for..
Ah now you have to do the brainy part and also decide how much you can afford to devote to your hobby. Faced with this task I, who loves to look out of my kitchen, lounge or bedroom and see something in flower, would take a monthly visit to a garden centre or nursery and buy a big pot of something in flower each month. April I would buy a big pot of primulas or polyanthus, take it home and divide it up - probably get 15 or 17 little plants . Clear a few small patches somewhere you can see them from your kitchen and plant in groups of five or seven. Next year you will have a lovely show to cheer you early spring, something like this.
Thanks everyone
I like simple, easy to look after flowers and bushes.
I'm planning on planting lots of bulbs alongside some shrubs but I don't know which. I like daffs and tulips etc so I can handle the bulbs side but I want lots of colour all year round so I would like lots of evergreen shrubs. I'm open to climbers along the fence too that's why I staggered the tops of the panels so they can grow in-between them
Oh, there's a plant selection tool on this website I mainly look at the forum so hadn't noticed it. Click on Plants, on the bar above
