Holly

Hi everyone. This is my first Holly and I have it in a large planter. I've noticed that it's getting small brown spots on both sides of the leaves. I can't remember what type of Holly it is except that there were a few berries on it when I bought it and was told it was a female.

I took pictures pansyface but can't find a way to get them onto the site. I'm using an iPad. Does that make a difference?

No, it doesn't look like Hollyleaf miner as far as I can tell. The spots are more like small, brown pinholes and the leaves are getting discoloured in places.

Sounds like Holly Leaf Spot.  I think it's fungal.  Had spots on mine sprayed them with a fungicide and they are OK now.  Google it and see if it is.

I seem to have a similar problem. About 12 months ago we planted 10 x 6ft Common English holly bushes to create an 'instant' hedge after someone drove their car through the previous one. However we have recently started to notice that the leaves on most of the plants are turning yellow and have spots on them - pictures below. Does this also look like it's fungal? Can anyone suggest a treatment?
