Haywire Blackberry Brambles

Hi All

Im after some advice.  We moved into our house last June and decided to sort the garden out.  We have blackberries which is lovely but its everywhere very thick brambles as well as it appearing in the middle of the garden. Any advice on how to get rid of it?

Hire a brush cutter and cut it all down so about 4 inches of the stems are left. Split each remaining stem vertically down the middle. Paint the top where it is cut and the split with Roundup Tree Stump and Root Killer. Leave it for six months so that it kills all the hidden roots in the ground.

Then go through with a mattock and remove all the roots.
