May flowering container plant

Amy CoarAmy Coar Posts: 1
Hello, I am in need of a bit of help with regard to flowering plants for may, I am looking to build up some pots and hanging baskets which are predominantly yellows and blue flowers to decorate my wedding venue for late May, I was wondering what I could plant which would fit this bill, or whether at this stage I am restricted to bedding plants only, What options would be best for this time of year? To ensure bright & bold flowers?

You could try Aubrieta for the blues? Violas offer a range of blues and yellows?

The one problem with this is.......the weather could cause your chosen flowers to come into bloom too soon or too late. It might be an idea to plant up your chosen containers with foliage plants (ivy and such like) but leave room for flowering plants to be added nearer the date. A trip to the garden centre mid May should yield some decent flowering plants to fill in the gaps.
