Just built a green house.

Only a cheap Argos 4ft x 6ft one the wife bought me. It's probably to late now but what can I put in it that will grow over the summer? I'm thinking of a chili plant, other ideas would be appreciated.

Tomato, sweet pepper, chili, aubergine, cucumber are the most common.  If you like chili, you could grow several types. image

  • I thought it might be too late for cucumber, I'm tempted by those and chilies.

Cucumbers germinate quickly - I started mine last weekend in a heated propagator and they germinated in 3 days.  One seed in each 3" pot, covered with a plastic bag and put on a sunny windowsill is equally good.  Many garden centres will have them for sale as plants now, too.

  • Most cucumbers are sown april/may so plenty of time for those.

Personally I grow, Tomatoes, Cucumber, Peppers, Chillis, Melons and i have a grape vine too.

As per bob, if you don't have time to get seed in and sow it, then most garden centres will be selling small plants of most things you would want to grow.
