The cherry-plum is full of blossom today, and the tulips are opening. Too much else to mention!

  • Here there are Tête-à-tête, Czar Peter Tulips (absolutely beautiful), drumstick Primulas, some very small snowdrops, primroses, primula, various colours of hellebores, Pulmonaria, Dog Tooth Violets, Viola, bellis daisies (in abundance), some wallflower, Snowflakes, Hyacinths, Scillas, Grape Hyacinths, Anemone Blanda, Chionodoxa, a lovely Daphne retusa (first year it's flowered), Cowslips and a few others I have probably overlooked.  Not bad after the cold wet Scottish winter!!!!

What a glorious day here for gardening, and for counting flowers.   I counted 22 different types flowering, including Dicentra Spectabilis - bit early, isn't it?   Can I include carpets and carpets of shimmering celandines?   I was so impressed by these beautiful shiny little flowers when I first saw them that I collected some to put in pots - big mistake!   They are now all over the place, but still beautiful.
