Best Yew for topiary?
Hiya,
I'd like to start some small topiary from scratch, And for what I'm imagining (a bit like a standard but with three levels to it) I think it's probably best to buy a Yew whip around 60cm tall.
Does that make sense? Is there a specific cultivar of Yew to get or will any hedging Yew work?
I've chosen Yew because our garden is very hot and humid, so I don't want to risk Box blight. We seem to get every other fungal plant disease here!
Thanks,
Jack

Yew is Taxus baccata. A lot of the cultivars, bred for shape and gold edges to the new leaves etc, would be wasted on topiary.
Just look for yew, or Taxus baccata
