Verdun very true regarding the mix of the subtle with the WOW. I've seen gardens where every plant seems to a Prima Donna and they , for me, never work.
When everything seems to shout " look at me, look at me" it's just a clash, but something every now again to stop you in your tracks , for me , is great.
I find SOME gardens where all the colour schemes are so carefully and cleverly contrived tend to feel, erm , a bit bland??? It just like wallpaper, it's just there .
