Hi everyone, looking for some advice on good long flowering summer shrubs for along our fence its mostly a semi shaded area so far we have a couple weigelas and couple smaller version rhododendrons and potentilla and a lavatera & a aucuba japonica in main shaded area just looking for any other summer flowering shrubs so they will flower along with our perennials so constant colour through summer, also looking for ideas for big pots for next year was thinking Hydrangeas cant think of many others? Thanks everyone. Happy Gardening. Sam

    thank you image

  • Any of the earlier flowering shrubs can be brightened up during the Summer months by growing a clematis through them. The viticellas, several of the taller herbaceous and many of the Viorna Group, crispas, pitcheri, texensis look stunning, are bomb-proof hardy and reliable.

This is Buckland Beauty, ideal through a green shrub or holly bush, not jazzy, and flowers July to September-ish.
