    They're so gorgeous - they grew wild on the hedgebanks of my childhood image

    Lucky you! I can't keep violas for more than a year , not even tricolour.

    The white ones in the top picture are Sweet Violet, Viola odorata. You can tell by the shape of the sepals, which are blunt. The other picture shows longer pointed sepals, so are more likely to be dog violets
