This is my first picking this year of Timperley Early picked on 15th March - I've picked two more equal amounts since then, from one plant planted 3 years ago
I place a terracotta forcing pot over it in mid to late January. From mid March onwards, sometimes earlier, I pick at least one large crumble's-worth of sweet pink rhubarb a week, sometimes much more. I stop picking at the end of June and mulch the plant with well-rotted farmyard manure and again in the autumn.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
