move a rose
Hello,
i have a rose bush which i planted 4 years ago.
its about 3ft high and has never done very well in its spot as its too shady. I'm thinking of moving it to a sunnier place - is moving it bad for the rose bush? how far spread will the roots be as i'm worried about severing them.
thanks

if you're quick you might get away with it.
Give it a prune and cut back some of the oldest longest roots to encourage young white feeder roots.
Mulch well , feed it in a month or so and keep it well watered.
Try to dig up as much soil clinging to it as possible, it won't be huge but every little bit helps
