lawnmower

Hello

I now own a lovely garden complete with a 15ft by 30ft lawn (rough guess).

We don't ownlawnmower, but was gifted a very old petrol flymo hoover that had been in a garage for 15 or so years. We did get it going with Petrol and a new sprack plug but has died again whilst attempting a strip. So do we attempt to get it going again or just invest in something new. If going for something new what do people suggest?

Ideally don't want to spend a fortune either way!

For a lawn that small you could buy a push along one, no noise, polution and plenty of exersize, other than that, a 12 inch cut flymo would do.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

I wouldn't bother trying to get the petrol mower fixed.  It will cost more than buying a new electric one.  You don't need anything very powerful for what is a comparatively small lawn.

you can get a lawnmower in Argos for £40, I'd not have the other one fixes either

  • I'm with Lyn on this; get a push mower and give the neighbours' ears a break.

The first thing I would do (if you haven't already) is try the mower with fresh fuel. 95% of the time when a small engine plays up the fuel has simply gone off. The other 5% it is the carb has muck or water in it. image

The words Flymo & petrol mower have always spelt trouble when used together.
