Yup. Called Mares Tail in our house, but I can tell you we have a not so polite name for it! It turns into a frondy green plant. The rhizome root system is incredibly long, so you can never get rid of it. If you want to spray it, you must crush it first to get through the tough 'skin'. Its a prehistoric weed and no doubt will still be on this planet way after we've gone!

It's a shame they are such a nuisance in the garden, kind of amazing to look at really.
