Have you looked at the Joseph Bentley range of tools?

Yes its the long handled grass shears I have seen the border ones but not the grass ones they are all plastic ones .
I'm with you now, the long handled grass shears you can stand up to cut the grass with?
I haven't seen them with wooden handles for years. Perhaps someone else can find some on the net, I would buy them too!
ebay? amazon?
Do you mean edging shears? In 2012 Garden News decreed that Burgon & Ball's wooden handled edging shears were the Best Buy http://www.burgonandball.com/press-room/media/uploads/Garden%20News%20Lawn%20Edging.pdf , but I can't find any in their catalogue https://www.burgonandball.com/media/bb-2014-catalogue-low-res.pdf . Perhaps you could contact them and see if they still have any in stock?
Otherwise I suggest that attending a rural auctioneer's regular deadstock auction, where they often sell gardening equipment from house clearances etc, may turn up what you're looking for
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I go to my local scrap yard to pick up wood handled tools. I get some seriously nice stuff for peanuts. Shears can always be oiled, sharpened and tightened up.
I much prefer to work with wooden handles, plastic ones make my hands ache.
