Alstroemeria
in Talkback
I'm a little confused.I've received 5 Alstroemeria from J Parkers which look like Hairy catterpillars and i've been fed so many different stories about what to do with them.Firstly someone said Acid soil,Someonesays,Lie them flat a couple of inches below the surface,Others say plant upright in normal soil,Anyone have idea what to do with them?

I grew mine from seed.but I thought I'd bump you up a bit.
It sounds like a Trial and Error job then. Thanks anyway.
I held up the octopussy type roots, worked out y shape which way up and just put them in a large pot to suit the size and length.
That was a couple of years ago, Put them in garden when growing and last year was rewarded very nicely
I'm sure some will argue no but mine had no special treatment
Cheers Matty2,I'll try that.
