Oriental Poppy

I would like to increase my oriental poppy, can I lift and divide?  I believe that seeds do not come true to type...

You can lift and divide now. Don't leave it too long, mine are already

    romping away.

  • Many thanks I will try it over this weekend......

They will also grow from root cuttings, taken in autumn or winter, if you want a lot of plants.  Division best now, as Fidget says.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

I took quite a few root cuttings last summer from my 'pattys plum'.  Despite birds pulling out the cuttings a few times and me replacing them, they seem to be doing pretty well.  I plan to plant out after easter.
