slug clear

I have just planted 6 rows of potatoes. i had a bad problem with slugs last year and my neighbour on the allotment gave me some liquid slug killer as he swore by it and used it last year and intends to use it this year (it was already diluted and in a container), anyway i found out it is slug clear  and that contains metaldehyde. are my spud ruined or will the rain dilute the slug clear over the time until i harvest them. i gave the furrows just a covering of the liquid meant for the slug eggs more than anything. i appreciate your help thank you

The RHS says "A liquid formulation of metaldehyde (Slug Clear) is available for watering on to ornamental plants and soil, it should not be applied to edible plants. "

I would plant another 6 rows of potatoes elsewhere and then contact the manufacturers to find out how long to wait before using that area of your allotment for edible crops.

    What a shame image
