eryngium

hi, I bought some eryngium from aldi, they are like bark stumps - like branches with root on the end, I was wondering if anyone can advise me how to plant these sort of things - do I cover it all?prune it? any help greatly appreciated! helen

I'd rehydrate it and pot it up and wait till it looks like a plant before putting it in the ground. The roots need to be completely under the compost but the growing tip at or near the top.

Don't cover it, when the leaves appear they need light.

They like well draining soil...back of a border near a wall is perfect for them.

  • thanks
