3 yrs of Gardeners World recordings

LeadFarmerLeadFarmer Posts: 1,496

Im just in the process of copying over 3 years worth of GW recordings from my Sky box onto an external hard drive to free up some space. I have so many that I didn't know whether to just delete them as its going to take me days and days to copy them over, convert the files if required and then organise them in date order.

I decided to keep them, and as Im going through them I'm decided to document what each episode includes, so I can access that particular segment in the future.

Eventually it will mean I have them preserved and can watch them in the future, and free up some space on my Sky box. It will also be useful to be able play previous episodes from the current time of year. Just a shame the wife has zero interest!!!

will you actually ever watch them all again? If so, fine. but really: do you think you'll ever watch 3 years worth of GW, or indeed any other programme?

    Just a thought.

Yes, Ive watched most of them more than once since Ive had them recorded. I usually watch them after Friday nights GW, I search for the equivalent episode from previous years, its like getting double/triple dose of GW.

    Couldnt be doing with that!

I watched GW for a couple of years, sorted out the fact from the fiction, rarely watch it at all now.

  • I still watch it, but with every passing year Monty Don is reminding me more and more of a re-animated skeleton. Really starting to get creepy!

If someone gave me three years of Geoff Hamilton GW on DVD I would be over the moon!

I'm struggling to get through the current series of GW - Nigel seems more animated than Monty. I do like the featured gardeners though, their passion for a particular plant or concept is always a joy. But heck, half an hour of Monty when I feel like a break isn't all that bad. I just don't feel I  learn a lot that is relevant from him though.

Its Monty that I enjoy the most on GW. I often fast forward through some of the other sections if they are talking about things that dont interest me, such as Rhododendrons .

Jimmy, I know what you mean. And what's with the jet black hair colour?

We are all different LeadFarmer, enjoy your Monty recordings image When I got the Geoff Hamilton collection I thought I would be watching them spread over the whole winter. Two weeks later I had got through the lot, think I might start again on them. image

I think it's a great idea LeadFarmer, the friday night programme is so short.

How many people garden in the UK  and we get one half hour programme a week. I also loved the Geoff hamilton programmes, Its realy the gardening i'm interested in,but we all have our favorite presenters.
