Garden makeover - Japanese cherry
Good morning All,
I am at the final stages of my garden makeover, and need some advice regarding the top left hand corner of my garden. The main border to the LHS will be planted with woodland type plants (rhododendrons, ferns, hostas, irisis etc) as its generally in shade for most of the day. I have bamboos and acer palmatums ready to go in the planters, so going for a more exotic style.

I am thinking a Japanese cherry tree at the top left corner, and then train some Chinese wisteria to run along the fence line.
Does anyone have any thoughts about what to plant in this top corer, and also what plants to plant at the base of the tree...
Thank you.
John

Hi John
It looks as if the meadow behind your garden is used for grazing cattle/horses - wisteria is toxic so would be a potential problem if grown within reach of grazing animals.

I wouldn't grow an acer somewhere exposed to the wind, it can scorch the leaves.
