Lavender cuttings

I have taken lavender cuttings from a standard plant after the fence came down in wind, they look healthy but a few have mildew? I have removed them and hope it won't spoil the others, the ones removed did have fine roots, any ideas ??

I've found lavender grows easily and quickly from seed heads saved from the previous year, so have never bothered with cuttings.
I'm new to this so might very well try this later in the year ,thank you
