Mystery Plant

in Plants
I was interested in purchasing a plant recently that I had spotted either on the internet or in a magazine. I decided against it and deleted the information. Now I wish I hadn't. If anyone can help identify it the description is as follows
It was displayed as a wall shrub with bare branches and long catkins medium length and delicate. (It is not a Garrya nor is it a hazel). I seem to remember it being japanese but that might not be the case. The comments were saying that it wasn't widely grown but should be more popular.
Sorry that's all I have. Any ideas?
