primroses

Hi Guysimage. Just found about two dozen potted primroses (clearing the winter hospital bed),some different colours and some natural ones also a couple of candlabra type

.I liftedand potted them in the autumn meaning to relocate them. They are all in flower and look healthy enough Any ideas of where they might do best in the garden? Would a gravel bed do them best or are pots an option, sun or shady?I think I potted them because they looked a bit sad in the ground??

What I do know primrosecottage is that they like it cool and moist. I have some by our pond and they're very happy there image

I planted a couple of native primroses about two years ago.  They decided they didn't like it there and I now have about 20 in another part of the garden. They seem to choose their own spot.

I have a pale yellow one which has turned into 9 different plants in the past year, it just expands by the minute. The clumps do best in either East or west facing where they get sun for part of the day. Our soil is loamy and reasonably free draining.
