Hello Wonky Legs - Sounds like you have been really busy already in your new garden.  Digging your pond might reveal buried treasure - you never know.image

if the rose bed is indicative of the fun ahead, my treasure will be enough gravel to resurface the M1, many still laid patio slabs and if I am really lucky, another subterranean wall.

Are you taking before and after photos ? image
  • I have a few before pics but not very good as they were only taken so I could do a sketch up model of the garden. Easier to move things on the computer than to replant things over and over (yes I'm a nerd) I suppose I should get some better shots as it will be unrecognisable when I'm finished.

Welcome Wonky Legs, I know all about builders' rubble and sunken patios and blank canvases so you have my sympathises and congratulations, oh, and I occasionally know the odd bit about planty  stuff, sometimes image

Luckily there are many others who know far more so stick with themimage

    Look forward to conversingimage

welcome wonky legs. Jump on in , it's lovely in here.

    Devon.
  • Thanks again everyone for the lovely welcome, i'm more used to forums that lambaste and mock any newcomer.

I would love to understand the thought process where someone looks out of the patio doors at the patio and has that lightbulb moment, what a great idea it would be to hoof a shed load of topsoil over the patio then turf it. Out of sight out of mind and all that jazz!

cant wait for the longer days so I can make a swan out of this ugly duckling.
