To drench or not to drench a rhoddie

I have a rhododendron which suffered badly last year from being "nibbled" in its first year after planting and was given a drench - is this the right time to do a second one before the plant starts to grow again?

If by drench you mean giving it lots of water then I think the time to do it is when its forming its buds, which I think is around Autumn to October time?

Sorry I didn't make my original post clear - by drench I meant about using pest control to try to get rid of whatever is nibbling at the leaves of my plant.  I am not really sure if it was vine weevil or something else.

If you are using a chemical pesticide like Provado then you can repeat every 4 months. If you are using nematodes then you need to wait until the soil is warmer.

Thanks steephill - using Provado so will treat the plant soon.
