Advice on what may be causing hedge disease and how l could treat

Hello, l am hoping there could be someone who knows what is causing the hedge at my home to lose leaves. The hedge is a feature of the garden, provides privacy and is a useful windbreak. The hedge has been losing leaves since the middle of last summer and although new growth is not growing back fully and advice would be really helpful, thanks.

The browning on the leaves in the first picture looks to me like frost damage. As the weather warms up there will be more new shoots and new leaves which will replace the frost-damaged ones.
The second picture looks like a pretty healthy hedge to me. All hedges shed leaves - evergreen ones shed them bit by bit throughout the year, deciduous ones do it all at once in autumn.
People often forget that hedges need a bit of nutrition - give it a sprinkling of Fish, Blood and Bone (as directed on the pack) this spring

The reason the hedge is bare at the bottom is that your'e cutting it straight. Hedges should be cut at an angle narrower at the top and wider at the base. FB&B is good, but growmore will do just as well.
I agree. Give it a good feed - pelleted chicken manure is another option - and work it into the soil at the base. Clear out any weeds first then feed and mulch it to retain moisture and improve soil structure.
