Half hardy annuals
In the past (with no greenhouse) I've always sown seeds such as Cosmos in pots on the kitchen window sill. However the kitchen is choc-a-block with baby tomato plants and have run out of space.
Now I've got the GH, can half hardy annuals like cosmos, zinnia and antirrhinum be sown in it and if so when?

Id like to know that yo Fishy as I have a lot of Cosmos sees to sow, they were one I f favourite annuals last year.
I hope you're ok by the way.
my antirrhinum are in the cold frame as i have nowhere to put them and have been fine for the last few weeks
Antirrhinums are the hardiest out of those. For the others I think the GH must be above freezing at night. Is there electricity in the GH? I had a paraffin heater, but now OH has arranged an electricity supply I have a little heater and a warm mat which I bought on the internet. It's great, there is a warming cable that runs through it and it sits on the GH shelf, with pots and trays on it.
Hi OL
Yes not too bad thank you...and yourself? Thanks cairnsie and Busy-Lizzie, I'll chance it with some antirrhinum then but have hardy native perennials in the GH that prefer it cold. I think this shows you can't have it all ways? Hmm...I wonder if Mrs F would object to a few seeds on the bathroom window sill
Bathroom, bedrooms, anywhere!! Best put some paper or cardboard down first though, you dont want a divorce over it.
Cosmos grow so quickly theres no rush to sow them, I sowed some in June for late flowers. They can go in as tomato plants are going out in the GH. Not yet though.
