Gardening terminology
Sorry for what is probably a really ridiculous question, but when people refer to the term 'in the green', what does it mean please?
I am new to gardening as you may guess...
Thanks in advance.

"in the green" simply means in growth. As opposed to bulbs, shrubs, herbaceous plants being "dormant" .
Welcome Longhead, sorry , forgot my manners
No need to apologize. Many thanks for your answer. It all makes sense now.
Welcome Longhead

It wasn't that long ago I was wondering what 'in the green' meant, bulbs always came in bags dormant as far as I knew. Plenty of articles about planting bulbs 'in the green', none took the time to explain what it meant.
Welcome Longhead23, they are good bunch here.
