Festuca glauca 'Blue Fescue Grass'

VoyagerxpVoyagerxp Posts: 651

I've been growing Blue Fescue Grass from seed. I started them indoors about 3 weeks ago and they are growing good. When can i put these out in the greenhouse, it said sow in well drained soil and keep at around 20ºC  or will it be to cold. I'm a newbie at growing plants and still learning.

The nights can be a bit cold still so I'd wait a while before putting them out in the greenhouse.

When you grow these from seed you might get a few green plants amongst the blue ones. They will soon show their true colours.

Its coffee time (a bit late in the morning perhaps) so the computer beckons.

Agree with Verdun. They are hardy and I leave mine outside all year in the ground. 20C will be temperatures to germinate. Just acclimatise them to colder temperatures and they will do fine. I would leave them in the pot until they are much more mature otherwise you may confuse them with weeds. I have done such things in the past!

Thanks for the input guys, i've started to run out of space in the house where the sun shines so i'll put these in the greenhouse now.
