Strange fungi

I keep findind small, brown toadstools/mushrooms poping up in my pots. They are no more than an inch and a half at most, usually I try to pull them out when I spot them. They are light brown in colour and have visable gills.  I have been unable to identify them from the small book I own. I have never seen them in the open ground, only in the containers, both in the front and back gardens.

Any ideas please?

Neither as far as I know. Pull them off if you don't like the look of them.image
