I've started some of these indoors and they are just coming up now after about 2 weeks.
Start Liatris seeds indoors or sow them directly in the garden in early spring.
Sow the seeds on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Cover seed with a light sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Prick out each seedling once it has its first set of true leaves and transplant into 7.5cm (3in) pots.
I grow mine front of border and treat as a herbaceous perennial. Loved by bees and flutterbys
My purple and white Liatris corms flower in June or later. Full sun, free draining but damp soil and they are fine. Certainly do not need indoors to kick start them as they are fully hardy.
Thanks all
that's tomorrow taken care of I will add a little grit to the planting hole to make sure they get enough drainage and hope for the best.
