Are These Ready?

I have been chitting these 'Charlotte' Seed Potatoes for the past fortnight.
This is the first time I have done it so I was hoping someone could tell me whether they are ready or need a little bit longer?
Thanks in advance image

    Much longer.
  • Thanks image

  • Thanks Edd, I was just unsure as I read it was meant to take about 2-3 weeks which is how long I've had them out so far, they're obviously way behind lol

TBH I wouldn't leave them as long as Edd's first picture as there is a risk the shoots would be knocked off during the planting process.

I don't think they are way behind, they will start to grow in their own sweet time.
  • Hello there, my King Edwards seed potatoes started sprouting in the bag, so I rubbed them off (being long spindly and pale) then popped them in cartons and put them in the summer house, should I bring them back in or is cool and fairly bright better than a cool kitchen... advise would be much appreciated tattie growers, ty image

    Cool and bright is fine.

I plant mine before they get as big as Edd's, especially the first pic. Could Edd be having us on?

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Ok thats great thanks, some of the ones I have found in my kitchen potato bag after a few weeks look like Ed's!
