Hi anyone got a ideas the best way to grow chocolate cosmos from tubers thanks

I grew some straight into the garden where I wanted them ,I prepared the patch well with fresh MPC so they were a bit molycodled.They have returned two years in a row and I am hoping to see them again this year.
And yes they do smell of Thorntons
