I would'nt move it to grow up the apple tree, its not like a climber, more like a tree in itself. It will be bigger than the apple tree.
All the green you see in my photo is it, not just the flowery bit at the bottom, its probably all of 12ft tall there, and it was cutback in the Spring, and every time it grabs me on the way to the greenhouse.
I only started this garden in 2012, it just took off and yours will be big by this summer.
By the way, mine was a £2.00 puny twig from Morrisons as well!.

I'm a bit surprised at the previous comments - my solanum "Glasnevin" had been in about 5 years and is just supporting itself in front of the fence. I do prune it in spring each year so it doesn't get too tall. The courtyard is rather shady though and there is very tall birch tree only about 2/3 metres away on the other side of the fence (the Council's not mine and they won't cut it down - 40 ft, 35 yrs old and growing! I suspect that it probably takes a lot of moisture out of the soil which is clay which might be why my solanum isn't growing as well as some of yours. I love it anyway and grow a clematis "Blue Ice" through it.
Mine is in full sun all day, I too have a clematis there, Blue Multi, but I am rubbish at growing them its same as when I planted it! Usually they die on me.

Lyn, I did realise it was all the green! but didn't realise it wasn't a climber. I'm making an arch by joining the two Apple trees and had hoped it would follow the same line ( not sure now if it doesn't climb, must keep on thinking - or just bite the bullet and do 'something'!)
Lizzie, mine will be in full sun most places in the garden so assume it will be somewhat rampant!
I have it close to the trellis and just tie it in, I do find that in strong winds branches tend to snap off easily so maybe you can put some eyelets into the wall and just tie it as it grows. There is no way you will be able to wiggle it through a trellis. Its tough.
I never really like to move plants when they are establishing, it will be making a good root system below ground shame to disturb it.
