What is my mystery bulb thats growing....

LucyLLucyL Posts: 163

Hi everyone, Last october/november i planted 300 bulbs of various kinds, for this time of year i have Snowdrops, Crocus, Iris and Daffodils....which have also started to grow n' now awaiting their flowers...

But something else has also grown? What is it?

Its the one in the centre of picture, with the red tinge leaves.

Other bulbs that i can remember that were planted are :

- Anemone De Caen

- Tulips

- Lilys (from previous year - unsure of the kind)

-Gladiolas

-Sparaxis

I was thinking it could be tulips, but is it not a bit early for tulips?

Thanks for your help again

It looks like a Tulip. I do not think it is early for them to be popping up.

Our species Tulips are flowering. The badger ate all the others though, so none for us this year.

Tulip, possibly a read one. Mine are up about 6 inches.

Indeed, tulip as seen, our specie ones are in flower, the rest are nice fat spikes like the picture - tho' a little taller.  The only other faint possibility is an allium, but I really do think tulip too.

I'm in Lancashire and the tulips are coming up. Some dwarf daffs in the back garden are in flower and we had snow two weeks ago.

    Thanks everyone image

Next Question: Can you identify these two types of plants?

This one (two pictures) i have no idea what it is, can't remember flower colour or anything about it -

This one I lost the tag for, i got it from a local nursery, when it flowers the flowers are yellow and look similar to dandelions, but are supper yellow, they close at night n' open in the sunshine. (both images have been attacked by slugs - which i am on the case with lol)
