Pinching out sweet peas - once or multiple times?

Hiya,

Do you pinch out the tip only once, or multiple times until there is a set number of side shoots?

    I only pinch out once.

    I usually only do them once as well. With that, I would get perhaps 2 more strong shoots appearing from below. That'll give each seedling 3 good stems to bear flowers. I've been growing them for donkeys years.

    That is sound advice so once they have 3 good strong leaves I should pinch out the top growing stem? I am assuming this is correct.
